PUXICO, MO (KFVS) -

A Puxico woman accused of murdering her husband was in court on Thursday morning.

Victoria Isaac's arraignment was 9 a.m. in Stoddard County. She is facing first degree murder charges.

Issac denied representation from a public defender and will hire her own lawyer within the next week.

She will be back in court Thursday, May 23, at 9 a.m.

New details were released Wednesday in the shooting death of a Puxico man. His wife is charged with murder.

According Stoddard County Sheriff Carl Hefner, authorities arrived on the scene around 8 a.m. on Tuesday. Chris Isaac was found dead.

Victoria Isaac, 47, was charged with Class A felony of first degree murder. Hefner said no bond has been set.

Stoddard County Coroner Kenny Pope says it appears Isaac was shot. An autopsy is scheduled for 9:30 a.m. Wednesday.

According to the probable cause statement, Victoria Isaac called 911 at 8:18 a.m. and told the dispatcher she had shot and killed her husband.

Chris Isaac was shot six times.

After she was arrested and mirandized, Victoria Isaac told the officer she needed her medication that was on the table in her home and that she took some it that morning.

She also told the officer she was "just laying in bed and 'something' told her to get up and 'end him,'" according to the probable cause statement.

She also said she was going to "end [herself]," but her son came into the room and she didn't have enough time to load the rounds to shoot herself, according to the probable cause.

Victoria told the officer that her husband was asleep on the coach.

Hefner says the major case squad has been activated.

A fund has been set up at any People's Community Bank location under the name "Kenneth Isaac" to help pay for funeral costs.
