Man arrested after police say he robbed store at knife point

BATESVILLE, AR (KAIT) – The Independence County Sheriff'sDepartment has arrested a man they say robbed a store at knife point.

Investigators couldn't release many details about thearrest, but did tell Region 8 News that the man in the surveillance video hasbeen caught.

Just before 7 p.m. Tuesday,the man entered the Impulse Clothing Store, 109 E. Main St., and asked the clerkfor help finding some jewelry for his girlfriend, according to the report.

When the womanapproached him, she told officers he grabbed her by the shoulder and pressed aknife against her.

The man then demandedthe woman "give him all the money that was in the register," according to theincident report.

After obtaining thecash, the man walked to the store's front door and told the woman "not to callthe cops" before leaving.

A customer, who was inthe dressing area, reportedly heard the exchange and called 911.
