BATESVILLE, AR (KAIT) – The Independence County Sheriff's Department has arrested a man they say robbed a store at knife point.

Investigators couldn't release many details about the arrest, but did tell Region 8 News that the man in the surveillance video has been caught.

Just before 7 p.m. Tuesday, the man entered the Impulse Clothing Store, 109 E. Main St., and asked the clerk for help finding some jewelry for his girlfriend, according to the report.

When the woman approached him, she told officers he grabbed her by the shoulder and pressed a knife against her.

The man then demanded the woman "give him all the money that was in the register," according to the incident report.

After obtaining the cash, the man walked to the store's front door and told the woman "not to call the cops" before leaving.

A customer, who was in the dressing area, reportedly heard the exchange and called 911.
