Post Plants Bring Wienermobile™ to Jonesboro

August 26, 2004 --Posted at 7:41 p.m. CDT

JONESBORO -- Post Employees recently received an overall quality award from their corporate headquarters. On Thursday they celebrated by hosting a hot dog cookout which included the famous Oscar Mayer Wienermobile™.

The dog on wheels is more than a footlong ! The truck is twenty-seven feet long, eleven feet tall and eight feet wide. It cruises an average of 500 miles per week and has storage for 11,000 wienerwhistle toys.

Landing a job as a Hotdogger, a winermobile driver, is not easy. Applicants must be college educated. Then they have to be selected from thousands of other hopefuls. Once a person is selected they only get three days off a year. The rest of their time is spent traveling around in the hot dog.
