    JONESBORO, AR (KAIT) – A memorial fund has been created for an 11-year-old girl who died after she became trapped beneath a pipe in a water-filled ditch for 20 minutes.

SEARCY, AR (KAIT)- A man faces a number of charges including negligent homicide, after he ran over a pregnant woman on Tuesday. 

White County deputies were called out to a scene in reference to a woman being struck by a vehicle. When they arrived, they learned that  30-year-old, Stephanie Jones  had been a passenger in a vehicle driven by 30-year-old Robert Jones.

The passenger door opened while the vehicle was still in motion. Stephanie was then ejected and ran over by the vehicle.

She was transported to the White County Hospital to treat life-threatening injuries.

During treatment, doctors were unable to treat the baby's internal injuries and Stephanie Jones loss her unborn child.

 

Deputy Phillip Miller says she was about five months into her pregnancy.

 

It is currently unclear how the door opened. She is now in stable condition in the hospital.

Robert Jones was arrested and charged with DWI, domestic battery, and negligent homicide.

Robert was placed in the White County Detention Center.

His bond was set at $50,000.
