11th annual Hispanic Celebration held in Jonesboro

JONESBORO, AR (KAIT) - Hispanic Community Services, Inc., hosted a festival Saturday at the Arkansas State University Rugby Fields as part of its 11th Annual Hispanic Celebration.

The family-friendly, cultural festival featured live entertainment and food such as traditional tacos, tamales, nachos, baked goods, hot dogs and snow cones.

The event also featured children's activities such as games, face painting, bouncy houses, a petting zoo and a soccer tournament. Entrance to the children's activities was $3 for one armband, and t-shirts were sold for $12.

The festival was held from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m.

The celebration also included the first International Soccer Cup for players ages 17 and older. The registration fee was $150 per team and trophies were given to the top three finishing teams.

Proceeds from the festival support the activities of Hispanic Community Services, Inc., and contribute to annual scholarships for Hispanic students attending Arkansas State University.
