A-State set for elimination game against WKU

LAFAYETTE, LA (KAIT) - After falling in a tight game one against 1 seed Troy, the Arkansas State baseball team will play in a win or go home match up against Western Kentucky on Thursday morning in the Sun Belt Conference baseball tournament.

The game doesn't set up well for the Red Wolves, who spoiled their one bright spot in the pitching rotation against the Trojans in game one. Daniel Wright was hit with the loss despite going 8 innings and giving up just 3 runs.

The Hilltoppers enter the game against the Red Wolves after also falling in a one run game against 4 seed Florida Atlantic. Western Kentucky is a 5 seed.

With the Daniel Wright bullet already shot, it is likely the Red Wolves will turn to RHP Bradley Wallace for the elimination game, but it wouldn't be surprising in Raffo went to the bullpen early if there were any signs of struggle from Wallace.

The game time could also have an impact on either one of the teams. First pitch is scheduled for 9 a.m. on Thursday morning.

The winner of this game will play Friday at 3 p.m. against the loser of the Troy/Florida Atlantic match up.
