Those individuals who enjoy the sport of playing golf and would like to participate in a fun-filled event for a worthy cause are invited to participate in the 14th annual Arkansas State University Sports Medicine Golf Scramble, which will be held Monday, June 17, at the Jonesboro (Ark.) Country Club.
The scramble benefits athletic training, A-State student-athletes, and ASU athletic training students. Proceeds generated from the scramble will go toward providing therapeutic and rehabilitation equipment necessary in the caring for injured Red Wolves' student-athletes along with providing quality clinical experience for athletic training students in A-State's nationally accredited athletic training curriculum. Among the equipment items purchased as a result of the scramble are AutoSound Hands-free Ultrasound, Interx Neuromuscular Stimulation, LaserPrism Therapeutic Laser, etc.
"Your participation and support of this tournament ensures Arkansas State University Sports Medicine and Athletic Training provides the highest quality and mostcurrent therapeutic and rehabilitation equipment necessary in caring for injured ASU student-athletes," said A-State Head Certified Athletic Trainer Ron Carroll. "It also provides quality clinical experience for athletic training students in the nationally accredited athletic training curriculum."
The cost is $85 per individual and will feature a four-person scramble format. The cost includes golf, cart, and lunch. The four-team entry fee is $340 for entries received before or on Monday, June 10. For those who register after June 10, please call (870) 972-3342.
Sponsorship packages for the scramble are available -- Major Sponsor ($1,000) – Entry fee for four players, prominent signage on both a tee and green, and your banner placed in the clubhouse; Corporate Sponsor ($500) - Entry fee for four players and two signs on a tee and/or a green; and a Tee or Green Sponsor ($100) – Prominent signage at a tee or green. Some of the major 2012 sponsors were Southern Home Health Care and Jonesboro Orthopaedics Sports Medicine. All donations to the ASU Red Wolves Foundation/Athletic Training fund are tax deductible.

Members of the Red Wolves Dancers, formerly known as the A-Team, will be serving beverages on the course to the participants. Tips received from drink carts and mulligan money collected from theteams will go towards the funding of equipment, uniforms, travel, etc.
Following the scramble, an awards presentation will take place with prizes to be awarded for the first, second, and third-place teams. Specialty prizes (longest drive, closet to the pin) will also be awarded for specific holes along with player door prizes.
