More storms possible for Oklahoma, Arkansas, Missouri

NORMAN, Okla. (AP) - More severe weather is on tap for parts of Oklahoma, Arkansas and Missouri already battered by high winds and heavy rain this week.

The Storm Prediction Center in Norman says softball-sized hail and some "potentially significant" tornadoes are possible Friday in much of Oklahoma, extreme northwestern Arkansas and the southwest corner of Missouri.

Cities included in the moderate risk area are Oklahoma City, Tulsa, Norman and Joplin, Mo. Northeast Arkansas and southern Missouri could see storms overnight into Saturday morning.

The National Weather Service says flash flooding is likely in areas that have seen repeated rounds of storms this week.

Severe storms are again in the forecast Saturday for an area stretching from Texas to the Great Lakes.

The Region 8 Storm Team is tracking the storm system.
