Sheriff: Body found in Lake Charles identified

LAWRENCE COUNTY, AR (KAIT) - The Lawrence County Sheriff's Department says a body was found Sunday morning in Lake Charles.

According to the Lawrence County Dispatch, they received a call around 11:15 A.M. Sunday in reference to a floating body in Lake Charles by the pier.

Dispatch says it happened right off the fishing dock on Highway 25. Members of the Dive Team, Arkansas State Parks Representatives and Black Rock Firemen were called to the scene to retrieve the body.

According to the Sheriff's Department, the body was identified as Joseph C. Plunkett, age 79, of Black Rock.

According to Sheriff Dotson, the initial report states the cause of death is a heart attack.

Officials do not suspect any foul play.
