KAIT honors 2012-2013 Teachers of the Month

JONESBORO, AR (KAIT) – KAIT honored the 2012-2013 Teachers of the Month Wednesday afternoon at a special luncheon at Sue's Kitchen.

From September to May, Region 8's Josh Harvison highlighted a special teacher you nominated in our monthly series Teacher of the Month.

Wednesday we honored all 9 teachers, and crowned Paragould School District's Jason Inman as the Region 8 Teacher of the Year.

The Teacher of the Year was awarded a $250 stipend for them to use in his classrooms.

We also gave away four $500 scholarships to area valedictorians.

Scholarship Recipients were:

Caitlin Robinson – Marmaduke

Dylan Barker – Twin Rivers

Jazmyn Canty – Gosnell

Jordan Cook – Westside

The event was emceed by our very own Josh Harvison and Amanda Hanson.

The Teacher of the Year program is sponsored by SubTeach, USA and Focus Bank. The Scholarship Salute program is sponsored by ASU, All-Clean and The Dermatology Office.

    According to Mississippi County Sheriff Dale Cook, a body will be sent to the Arkansas State Crime Lab in Little Rock for an autopsy after the body was discovered this weekend in the Mississippi River.
