Habitat for Humanity gets out of town help

JONESBORO, AR (KAIT)- New homes are going up in Region 8 thanks to some volunteers from out of town.

Around 100 people from Illinois are in Jonesboro to assist the Habitat for Humanity. Three new houses are under construction on Belt St. in North Jonesboro.

MG Meyering, CEO for Habitat for Humanity, says they couldn't accomplish the work they do without the help of people like this. "Our volunteer crew, even though it's growing, is very tight and very concentrated. Having a group like this actually jumps us ahead on fast track and gets a lot done," says Meyering.

This is the second year this group has traveled to the Jonesboro area to volunteer. They'll be heading home on Saturday.
