INDEPENDENCE COUNTY, AR (KAIT/AP)- An inmate who escaped jail Saturday morning is now back in police custody.

Edgar Mario Ibarra escaped the Independence County Detention Facility around 6:45 a.m. Saturday, according to Independence County dispatch officials.

Ibarra was in jail on misdemeanor charges from the Independence County District Court.

Police say this is not the first time the man had walked away from work detail.

The sheriff's office told The Batesville Daily Guard that 25-year-old Edgar Mario Ibarra first walked away last Thursday from a recycling center where he was working. A deputy sheriff later spotted Ibarra and returned him to the county jail.

Ibarra was back in custody, once again, by 1 p.m. Saturday.
