JONESBORO, AR (KAIT) - In hopes to send their Youth Choir Group to New York City BBQ dinners were served to the community on Saturday.
The First United Methodist Church served dinner at their Downtown Jonesboro location after being invited to go to sing at Carnegie Hall.
At the dinner you had the choice to either dine in or to carry out.
Choir Members waited tables and helped prepare the food.
Marc Sexton is the Assistant Music and Worship Director at church and says he's happy with the turnout he had that day.
"The turnout has been really good we've got several people take to go orders and we have several people eating here so it's turned out to be a very successful event and we're happy to get donations for everyone that is wanting to help out" says Sexton.
The choir group plans to head to New York next summer.
The dinner was 15 dollars per person.
Sexton says they will have a lot more events in the upcoming months to raise money for their choir group.
