One killed in New Madrid Co. crash

NEW MADRID, MO (KAIT) - A New Madrid woman is dead after a two vehicle crash over the weekend.

According to Missouri State Highway Patrol, Angel Ray, 40, was killed on Sunday night. The crash happened on U.S. Highway 61 near New Madrid just before 10:30 p.m. 

The crash report states Ray was the passenger in a Dodge Magnum that was hit head on by a Chevrolet pickup truck. The truck was headed south when it crossed the center line.

The 16-year-old driver of the truck was taken to a Sikeston hospital with minor injuries, he was wearing a seat belt.

The man driving Ray was seriously injured and was taken to a Cape Girardeau hospital. Neither Ray nor the driver of the car were wearing seat belts, according to MSHP.
