Man arrested after lying on sex offender registration form

BAXTER COUNTY, AR (KAIT) – A man was arrested three days after he lied in his Sex Offender registration.

On Thursday, 27-year-old, convicted sex offender Joel Campbell notified the Sheriff's Office he was house sitting a residence for about three weeks and had a temporary job at a Mountain Home Convenience Store.

On Tuesday, a Reserve Deputy notified Campbell's neighbors about his presence by handing out flyers.

In about two hours, Sex Offender Coordinator Maryanne Edge was notified by a neighbor that Campbell moved in several months before he had t old authorities and worked another job he didn't mention.

Campbell was arrested and faces charges for failing to register.

He was transported to the Baxter County Detention Center where he posted a $15,000 bond.

He is set to appear in court on June 20 at 9 a.m.
