SCOTTSDALE, AZ (CBS5) -

A Scottsdale firefighter has climbed Mt. Everest carrying an Alice Cooper-autographed guitar.

Todd Pendleton's eight-week-long adventure was undertaken to raise money for those suffering from leukemia and lymphoma.

Pendleton said the guitar is being auctioned on eBay through June 27. He plans to donate the proceeds to the Leukemia and Lymphoma Society.

His Everest expedition coincided with the first American ascent of Everest 50 years ago and the first ascent ever 60 years ago.
