JONESBORO, AR (KAIT) - The Greene County Animal Farm held a pet adoption and food drive in Jonesboro Saturday afternoon.
Puppies and small and large dogs were on display at the Walmart on Parker Road from noon to 4 p.m.
Animal Farm Internet Coordinator Jeanne Johnson said they wanted to showcase a sample of the animals available at the shelter.
"We have 80 or more animals that are for adoption at the Animal Farm and these are few that we are taking applications on and hoping that they find a home," she said. "We're doing a food drive because we're very much in need for food. People have been very generous and we appreciate that."
The pet adoption and food drives are held the fourth Saturday of every month.
The Animal Farm also hosts a flea market every Saturday from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. at the Farville Curve Storage Shed #11 on U.S. Highway 49. All proceeds go towards expenses and food for the animals. Monetary and food donations can be left at the flea market.
The Greene County Animal Farm is a nonprofit, no-kill shelter.
