CARUTHERSVILLE, AR (KAIT) – A weekend traffic stop leads to drugs and the arrest of the driver.

According to the Caruthersville Police Department, officers pulled over a tan van on Saturday afternoon near East 12th Street and Vest Avenue for failing to signal.

Officers say once they approached the van, the driver began acting "very suspicious." Police then asked the driver, 38-year-old Johnny Moore if there was anything illegal inside his van. Moore told police he had a quarter ounce of methamphetamine under his seat.

Moore was arrested and taken to the Pemiscot County Jail. He is awaiting formal charges of possession of meth with the intent to distribute and felony driving while revoked from the Pemiscot County Prosecuting Attorney's Office.
