JACKSON COUNTY, AR (KAIT) – A jury in Jackson County found a Newport man guilty of cocaine charges on Monday.
According to Prosecuting Attorney Henry Boyce, a jury of five women and seven men found Christopher S. Grady, 36, of Newport guilty of the charge of delivery of a controlled substance, crack cocaine.
Grady's case was the result of an investigation by the Jackson County Sheriff's Office and Federal DEA that involved the sale of around a half of an ounce of crack cocaine. He has been sentenced to 33 years in the Arkansas Department of Correction.
Boyce says Grady will have to serve a minimum of 15 years of that sentence as a "habitual offender."
