Power restored to West Springfield residents after WMECO outages

SPRINGFIELD, MA (WSHM) -

All power has been restored to West Springfield residents after an outage Monday night.

According to Western Massachusetts Electric Company, around 1,600 people were without power due to lightning hitting a piece of equipment. 

Towns in all four Western Massachusetts counties were without power.

According to WMECO's outage map, 12 towns had outages by 9:30 p.m.

WMECO says minor storm damage caused the outages.
