Police search for suspect after Malden police cruiser stolen

MALDEN, MO (KFVS) - Police are searching for a Dexter man after a Malden police cruiser was stolen.

Police are searching for Christopher Jenkins from Dexter.

Early reports indicate Jenkins was in the backseat of a police cruiser in handcuffs after a traffic stop and somehow stole the cruiser.

There is a shotgun in the vehicle.

The last report of Jenkins' possible whereabouts was that he was headed west on Hwy. J.

Corporal Clark Parrott with Missouri State Highway Patrol says troopers have saturated the Malden area to assist in the search.
