Randolph Co. teen killed in wreck

IMBODEN, AR (KAIT) – A Randolph County teen has died following a head-on collision Wednesday morning.

According to Arkansas State Police, 18-year-old Philander Kirk, Jr. of Pocahontas was driving south on State Highway 115 around 11 a.m. when he crossed the center line and hit a  truck.

Police say the driver of that truck, Mitchell Baltz, was injured in the wreck. No word on his condition.

The crash report indicates that the weather conditions were clear, but the road was wet.

A candlelight vigil for P.K. Kirk was held Wednesday night at Schoonover Stadium in Pocahontas. Kirk was a star athlete in multiple sports at Pocahontas High School.
