NASHVILLE, TN (WSMV) -

There's so much to see at Fontanel: the mansion, the grounds, the restaurants and the entertainment. Now, the historic property north of downtown Nashville has added something new: lodging.

Southern Living Magazine chose Fontanel for its 2013 Living Idea House, and together, the two created the Inn at Fontanel.

The six-bedroom bed and breakfast opens for tours this Saturday, and officials say the building will complete the Fontanel experience.

"We have all these great and amazing things from Barbara Mandrell's mansion to award-winning restaurants and studio galleries, concerts. But what we didn't have was lodging, and we really wanted to bridge that gap by offering what is going to be one of the best bed and breakfasts in the country, I believe," said Fontanel General Manager JP Dansereau.

Each year, Southern Living designs and furnishes a new building in the United States.

Officials say the program started as a way to bring home design to life.
