WALNUT RIDGE, AR (KAIT) – Sheriff's department arrested a man over the weekend who fled deputies wearing pink handcuffs.

According the Lawrence County Sheriff's Office, deputies arrested Carson Gates again on Saturday. Gates had broken the chain between the cuffs and had rubbed off the pink paint when officers arrested him for a second time.

Gates was arrested Friday along with Stephanie Roberts and Kelsey Hanshaw during an investigation into the selling of drugs. The two women were taken to the Lawrence County Jail without incident.

Sheriff Jody Dotson says Gates was taken back to his home in custody to retrieve more drugs. It was then Gates was able to "break away from the deputies." He was chased on foot by officers but they were not able to catch him.

Gates, Roberts and Hanshaw are facing charges including the delivery of meth, possession of meth, possession of marijuana, possession of drug paraphernalia and use of a communication device to commit a felony.

Gates is also charged with escape and possession of heroin.
