Blytheville Murder Suspect Stabbed to Death

SEPTEMBER 8, 2004 - Posted at 7:32 a.m. CDT

BLYTHEVILLE, AR - Blytheville Police are investigating the Friday night stabbing death of a man that police say was awaiting trial for the 2003 shooting death of a southeast Missouri man.

26-year-old Carlos Toliver of Blytheville was stabbed shortly before 10 p.m. Friday at a residence on Peabody Street in Blytheville.  When officers arrived at the scene, they found the victim prone in the driveway, suffering from a stab wound to the chest.  He was later pronounced dead at Baptist Memorial Hospital in Blytheville.

Police have arrested 45-year-old Percy Richardson in connection with the stabbing.

Police say Toliver was to be tried for the September 2003 shooting death of 44-year-old Daniel Flowers of Braggadocio, Missouri, who was killed in almost the same location of Blytheville that Toliver was.
