YARNELL, AZ (CBS5) -

The Prescott Community came together Monday to honor 19 of their own, the men who many watched grow up, who lived side by side with them in their now devastated community.

From start to finish, the emotion that filled the room seemed unbearable and yet exactly what the town needed - from the standing ovation the firefighting brothers of the Hotshots who died got when they walked in, to the heart-wrenching moment that needs no words.

"You know, I feel like, I feel like 9/11 all over again. That's what it was for me," Yavapai Fire District board member Tom Steele said.

"Please hear our prayer as we grieve for those who have so bravely given their very lives for the people of Yarnell," Pastor Paul Jones said.

"We're going to heal. After 19 funerals, we're going to heal, and all of us and the families are going to heal because of people like you that come together and support us and let us recognize that we don't do it for nothing," Prescott Fire Marshall Don Devendorf said.
