Woman injured trying to burn homeless man's tent, say police

NASHVILLE, TN (WSMV) -

Police said a man and woman dumped a bottle of gasoline over a homeless camp and tried burning it down with a man inside. 

But during the attack, police said the woman, Jill Naujoks, ended up with some serious burns.

The incident occurred Monday at a camp near Interstate 65 and Trinity Lane.

Naujoks is being treated for second- and third-degree burns after police said she helped set the homeless tent on fire but then fell into the fire.

Police said Naujoks and another man, Roy Morris, bought the gasoline and lit the tent on fire.

The man who was inside the tent at the time was able to escape without being burned.

Morris has been charged with aggravated arson.

Naujoks was admitted to the hospital in serious condition. Morris told police she was involved in the incident.

Police are still investigating.
