WICKENBURG, AZ (CBS5) -

Public safety crews are reporting more than 100 homes in the Yarnell area as "destroyed."

The Yavapai County Sheriff's Office gathered a list of homes it considers to be uninhabitable, posting 129 addresses for evacuees to see. If their address was on the list, they could anticipate going home to ruins.

However, evacuees still don't know when they'll be able to assess the damage themselves.

"I want to see it, I want to touch it," Barbara Potter said. "I want to know it's there."

Potter, along with hundreds of other evacuees, was told earlier this week she could be home by Saturday.

Now, that timeframe is more fluid and incident commanders say they may not allow anyone back to Yarnell until Monday.

"It was like a war," Debby Killer said. "Those pictures look like a bomb went off."

Killer has seen helicopter and satellite photos of the destruction. She doesn't believe her home to be damaged but the town is still considered "unsafe."

"The hardest part is not being able to go up and see it but I understand we have to be safe," Potter said. "They explained to me; the electrical wires, the gas lines, I mean the gas lines alone I can't imagine."

Public safety crews say they are constantly reassessing the situation and should have a more definitive timetable as to when evacuees can go home Thursday afternoon.
