CHICAGO (KAIT) - Arkansan and current Chicago Cub Travis Wood will be headed to his first career all-star game at Citi Field in New York next week.
Wood is in the midst of his first full season of Major League action, a season in which he has blossomed as a young pitcher holding a low ERA of just 2.69 through 17 starts this season. Despite the good numbers, Woods win-loss record is just 5-6, mostly due to the Cubs low offensive numbers and struggles in the Bullpen.
The first-time all-star made his major league debut for the Cincinnati Reds 2010 and is a native of Little Rock, Arkansas.
You can catch Wood and the rest of the All-Stars in action on a nationally televised FOX broadcast. The game will take place July 16.
