Westbound lanes of I-20 near Van reopened following accident

VAN ZANDT COUNTY, TX (KLTV) -

Update: DPS officials said the accident has been cleared and the highway has re-opened.

Van Zandt County Sheriff's Officials tell KLTV that an accident has forced the westbound lanes of interstate 20 near Van to be shut down.

It is not yet clear how many vehicles are involved or if there are any injuries, but officials tell KLTV that the westbound lanes of I-20 near mile marker 542 are currently shut down.

Drivers are urged to use caution in the area and to find an alternate route if possible.

We will continue to follow this and update the story as we receive new developments.
