PARAGOULD, AR KAIT (KAIT)- Region 8 seniors were on the move at the Paragould Community Center Thursday.
The annual Arkansas Healthcare Association District 4 Senior Olympics took place. 28 nursing homes brought teams to participate in the competitions.
Activity Director for Greene Acres Nursing Home, Mary Webb, says they participate every year. "Every year that we do it, our residents look forward to it and we do too. It's a lot of fun, they get exercise, they get to be able to communicate and it's just a whole lot of fun," Webb said.
Amy Rollins, Operations Coordinator for Reliance Healthcare said, "it is so much fun and they have such a sense of accomplishment and so much joy on their faces coming here and winning a gold medal, winning ribbons, winning trophies, getting to be here with everyone pumping them up and telling them what they can do."
280 seniors competed.
