Organization holds event to help expand program that helps women

JONESBORO, AR (KAIT) - Alarger than expected audience filled the Craighead County Fairgrounds for thefirst annual Butterfly Ranch Fish Fry.

People enjoyed live music,fish and tasty deserts while bidding on items at a Silent Auction.
The money raised at the event today goes towards the Butterfly Ranch Women'sCenter, a program in Swifton, dedicated in helping women out of addiction,physical and emotional abuse.

Mark Duncan coordinatedthe event and said they worked hard to get the word out about but never imaginethe large turnout that showed.

"It's a good time," saidDuncan. "We're out trying to raise money to help support the program and themoney goes to help with the women. This project tonight is mainly forconstruction of a new dormitory for the women."

Duncan said they plan tohold this event every year since the need to expand is growing.
