JONESBORO, AR (KAIT) - A larger than expected audience filled the Craighead County Fairgrounds for the first annual Butterfly Ranch Fish Fry.

People enjoyed live music, fish and tasty deserts while bidding on items at a Silent Auction.
The money raised at the event today goes towards the Butterfly Ranch Women's Center, a program in Swifton, dedicated in helping women out of addiction, physical and emotional abuse.

Mark Duncan coordinated the event and said they worked hard to get the word out about but never imagine the large turnout that showed.

"It's a good time," said Duncan. "We're out trying to raise money to help support the program and the money goes to help with the women. This project tonight is mainly for construction of a new dormitory for the women."

Duncan said they plan to hold this event every year since the need to expand is growing.
