Guns, drugs and moonshine seized in Stone Co.

MOUNTAIN VIEW, AR (KAIT) – Two people have been arrested in a Stone County drug bust where moonshine, drugs and guns were seized.

According to the Stone County Sheriff's Office, the office was tipped off about a possible marijuana grow and moonshine still from authorities in Searcy County on July 1. A search warrant was obtained by authorities in Stone County on July 2.

Several agencies searched the home of Clinton Howard, Sr. and Michelle Gallop at 1521 Old 66 Road near Oxley.

Police say they found marijuana growing inside and outside the home. Psilocybin mushrooms and hashish oils were found in the home as well.

Officers also found a moonshine still had been removed, but eight gallons of moonshine and items to make the liquor were seized.

Twenty-one guns, some of which were assault rifles, were taken as well as $1,420 in cash.

Howard and Gallop face felony charges including:

  • Simultaneous possession of drugs and firearms
  • Criminal use of a prohibited weapon
  • Possession of schedule 1 narcotic and maintaining a drug premise
  • Possession of illicitly distilled untaxed liquor (moonshine)
  • Growing and manufacturing marijuana

Both Howard and Gallop had bonds set at $50,000 each. Gallop has posted bonded while Howard remains in the Stone County Jail.
