IZARD COUNTY, AR (KAIT) – Two people were arrested last Tuesday after a fight concerning the Horseshoe Bend Police Department took a violent turn.

According to the Izard County Sheriff's Department, David Huff and Horseshoe Bend councilman, James Davis were arrested after Davis punched Huff in the face.

Davis was a police officer with Horseshoe Bend and appeared to be in favor of keeping the police department during a recent city council meeting.

The sheriff's department said Huff was an outspoken critic of the police department. In the past, he reportedly stated the police department didn't do enough to combat drugs.

While in jail, Huff also reportedly said he would press charges against Davis.

They were both released from jail after a brief appearance before the judge.
