TULSA, OK (NWANaturals.com) - A first inning run was all the Tulsa Drillers were able to get off of Andy Ferguson as the Naturals starter threw seven strong innings in a 3-2 victory for the Northwest Arkansas Naturals.
In his best outing since being converted to a starter in mid-June, Ferguson allowed one run on five hits with one walk and five strikeouts in seven innings of work to earn his first win as a Double-A starter and second win of the season. Ferguson allowed two hits in the first inning and two hits with two outs in the inning, managing to retire the side without allowing any damage.
The Naturals scored all three of their runs on solo home runs. Rey Navarro tied the game at one with his seventh home run of the season in the second inning. Brett Eibner, the reigning Texas League Player of the Week, hit his 13th longball of the year to give the Naturals a 2-1 lead in the sixth. Matt Fields hit his league-leading 24th home run of the season to give the Naturals a 3-1 lead in the seventh. Eibner, Fields, Navarro and Orlando Calixte each had a hit in the game.
