Precautionary boil order announced for Cardwell

CARDWELL, MO (KAIT) - Parts of Cardwell are now under a precautionary boil order.

According to the City of Cardwell Water Department, the order is not mandatory because there is water main being repaired in the city. There water system is not contaminated.

The order is for those living on Highway V north of Hicks Street to County Road 614.

The department states to boil water for three minutes prior to using it. If you have an automatic icemaker, do not use that ice. You should either remake ice with boiled water or buy ice.

Customers will be notified when the order is lifted.
