Modeling fashion styles raises awareness about breast cancer

JONESBORO, AR (KAIT) – Cancersurvivors showed the latest fashion Friday as part of the Runway for the Cureevent.

Eight cancer survivorsjoined family and friends, at the St. Bernards Auditorium, as they modeled downa catwalk in front of a live audience.

The event has been goingon for seven years now and always strives to raise awareness about breastcancer.

Dee Collins, breast cancernavigator with St Bernards, said they need to take advantage of every opportunitythey have to let people know about the disease.

"It's an opportunity to bewith other survivors," said Collins. "They have that camaraderie and thosefolks who have not had breast cancer for us to see that there is survivorship."

The event ran from 11:30a.m. to 1 p.m.

Over 200 people attended Friday'sshow. All proceeds go to the Susan G. Komen Foundation.
