  • State police looking into officer involved shooting

The Arkansas State Police is investigating an officer involved shooting that occurred late Sunday night. A Jonesboro police officer was investigating at the Garden Manor Apartments when, state police say, an incident occurred. The officer fired his weapon and injured a person's hand. Jessi Turnure is tracking the investigation and will have the latest on Region 8 News at 5 and 6. 

  • Batesville proposes business ordinance

Batesville city officials say they can better track the number of businesses in town if the city council approves a new ordinance. The ordinance will be discussed at the council meeting Tuesday. Will DuPree explains what prompted this proposal and how the ordinance will work, tonight on Region 8 News at 5 and 6.

  • Handling suicide situations

Over the weekend, just in Jonesboro alone, police were called to one suicide and one attempted suicide. According to Jonesboro police, both victims showed signs of suicidal thoughts beforehand. On Region 8 News at 6 and 10, Courtney Brown talks with a therapist and will tell you the best way to handle a similar situation.
