BLYTHEVILLE, AR (KAIT)-  An arrest has been made in a Blytheville man's death.

According to the Blytheville Police Department, 28-year-old Demond Moutry was arrested on Thursday and charged with manslaughter in the death of Herman Lee Jackson. He was arrested at an apartment complex on the 1000 block of Willow Street.

Captain Scott Adams said around 8 p.m. June 27, officers responded to the 1700 block of Chickasawba for a medical call. Jackson, 48, was found laying on his back after suffering what seemed like a seizure.

When Jackson was being taken to a hospital, officers say they noticed blood where Jackson's head was laying.

Detectives said doctors at a Memphis hospital reported Jackson had injuries which could have been caused by a blow to the head. Two days later Jackson died. On July 9, the Arkansas Medical Examiner's Office ruled Jackson had not died of natural causes.

Captain Adams said several witnesses told officers they had seen Moutry hit Jackson causing the injury that led to his death.

Moutry will be court Monday, July 29 for arraignment.
