Driver hospitalized after his car was pulled out of water in Amherst

A driver was transported to Cooley Dickenson Hospital in Northampton after he and his car ended up in the Hop Brook swamp Tuesday night.

The accident happened after the driver, an 18-year-old from Amherst was traveling east bound on Station Road.

The man had to be extracted from the car, which was pulled from the water with damage. 

The identity of the driver has not been released.  There is still no word on injuries or what caused the car to go off the road.

There will be more information on this as Amherst Police continue to investigate.
