(RNN) - Tropical Storm Dorian has formed in the eastern Atlantic Ocean, southwest of the Cape Verde Islands.

Dorian is expected to reach Puerto Rico at 8 a.m. Monday morning, according to the National Hurricane Center.

The fourth named storm in the Atlantic this season, Dorian has maximum sustained winds of 50 mph and is moving west-northwest at 33 mph.

Earlier in July, Hurricane Chantal dissipated before reaching the U.S. In June, both Tropical Storm Barry and Tropical Storm Andrea made landfall. Barry hit Mexico and Andrea swamped Florida, bringing heavy rains and flooding.
