RICHMOND, VA - Governor Huckabee is attending the Southern Governors' Association convention in Richmond, Virginia, where providing health care for retirees was the focus yesterday.
Experts told the governors that the South is fast becoming a haven for retirees and their states will more acutely feel the pressure on their health care systems.
Huckabee said people who live healthy lifestyles continue to subsidize health insurance for those who don't. He suggested that people who exercise, watch their diet, shun alcohol, drugs, smoking and riotous living pay lower premiums.
