Jonesboro man arrested for cocaine

JONESBORO, AR(KAIT) – A Jonesboro man was arrested early Friday morning after an officerdiscovered cocaine.

According toJonesboro police, Timothy Anderson, 31, was arrested for felony possession of acontrolled substance.

Around 12:45 a.m.Friday morning an officer with JPD saw two men standing in Hope Street while onpatrol. The officer stopped the men as they moved toward a red truck parked offthe road.

The officer noticedthat Anderson was "making a throwing motion" with his right arm on thepassenger's side of the truck before coming to the back of the vehicle. Identificationwas then requested by the officer.

While checking themen's identification, the officer notice Anderson was acting very nervous.

The officer went tothe passenger side of the truck where Anderson had been and that is where theofficer said he found a clear bag containing white rocks. The substance insidethe bag tested positive for cocaine, according to police.

The second man was searched and then released.

Anderson is in theCraighead County Jail awaiting a probable cause hearing.
