Gamecocks open football practice Friday

COLUMBIA, SC (WIS) -

South Carolina football returns to Columbia this week.  The team opens fall practice Friday, August 2 with a workout open to the public.

The first practice begins at 7:15 p.m. at the Bluff Road practice fields, across the street from Williams-Brice Stadium.

Practices are open to the public during the first week, but players will not be available for autographs before, during or after the practice sessions. All practices during the first week start at 7:15 p.m.

Pets are not allowed on the practice fields. Fans attending the practice sessions must stay behind the yellow rope.

Fans will be able to meet the athletes and get autographs at Colonial Life Fan Appreciation Day on Sunday, August 11, at Colonial Life Arena, beginning at 1 p.m.

The Gamecocks' first game of the season is against North Carolina on Thursday, August 29th at Williams-Brice Stadium.  Kickoff is at 6 p.m. It will be will be broadcast nationwide on ESPN.
