Authorities investigating 3rd suspicious fire in a week in St. Francois Co.

Park Hills Fire Department extinguished the third suspicious fire in about a week in St. Francois County, according to the fire chief.

Park Hills Fire Chief Jackie Wagganer said a vacant, two-story building caught fire Saturday night on East Elvins Blvd. When crews arrived, the building was fully engulfed.

Fire fighters fought the from the street because Wagganer said it was too dangerous to get any closer. He said the building had been vacant for roughly 20 years.

Wagganer considers this fire suspicious. He said this has been the third suspicious fire in about a week in St. Francois County. He feels one or more people may be responsible.

If anyone has any information, he asked that you contact you local police or sheriff's department.
