Fallen Hotshot's wife speaks for first time since Yarnell tragedy

TUCSON, AZ (Tucson News Now) -

It has now been once month since the Yarnell Hill Fire killed 19 Hotshot crew members near Prescott.

People all throughout Arizona paid their respects again today.

Here in Tucson, the widow of one of the firefighters spoke publicly for the first time at a fundraiser on the northwest side.

Billy Warneke was just 25 and leaves behind his wife Roxanne, who is expecting their first child.

At the Station Pub at Silverbell and Cortaro where they held another fundraiser for Roxanne and her family, and it was another fantastic show of support.

It was a packed house all night long with people buying the very popular Yarnell 19 t-shirts.

Firefighters were also playing waiter and waitress and donating their tips.

The bag pipers were also on hand and they marched in the pub and played Amazing Grace and had a very nice tribute for Roxanne, which brought several people to tears.

Roxanne, 25, said she is having a girl and will be naming her Billie Grace in honor of her late husband Billy.

She also said it's been a long and difficult month.

"Every day has been very different trying to cope and deal with one day at a time. But like I said, everyday had been different and being able to go through all of the cards that I've been receiving and all of the gifts has also been a reminder that I'm not alone out there," she said.

"You know it touches our hearts. We're all fireman and we all regret the day that this happens to one of us or to one if our brothers, and we're glad she could be here to see the support. You know, it's all for her. We want her to be apart of it."

The fundraiser raised an estimated $13,000.
