JONESBORO, AR (KAIT) – Back-to-school shopping was made a little easier for some kids in Region 8, Wednesday night.

According to Big Brothers Big Sisters Recruitment Director, Grant Cagle, Academy Sports donated $100 gift cards to every kid in the Northeast Arkansas program.

It totaled up to $3,000.

The kids were able to shop for backpacks, school clothes, shoes, and lunch boxes with their mentors, also known as their BIGS.

Cagle says after working with the Jonesboro Young Professional Network, Big Brothers Big Sisters is investing over $4,000 into Jonesboro's children to help better their lives this school year.
