BUTLER COUNTY, MO (KAIT)-  Poplar Bluff police recovered over $12,000 worth of stolen power tools and hand tools from Butler and Wayne County.

The tools were reported stolen from a construction site on Highway 160 at the end of July. The victim, Donald Dunlap, says all of his work tools were taken. He estimated their value to be over $15,500.

Dunlap told police he determined the person who sold the tools was Riley Doles using social media.

On August 2, police went to Doles' home in the 900 block of Cynthia Street and recovered most of the missing tools. Doles along with Ricardo Botero were later arrested without incident.

Both men are in the Butler County Jail on charges of felony stealing.
