Ribbon Cutting at the new Paragould Primary building

PARAGOULD, AR (KAIT) - Preschool through first grade students in theParagould School District will start the school year in a brand new building.

A ribbon cutting ceremonytook place Wednesday afternoon at the Paragould Primary building.

The building has fourteenkindergarten, twelve first grade and seven preschool classrooms.

The facility also containsits own cafeteria, gymnasium and special education section in the center of thebuilding.

"At the 3 smaller elementarywe were right on top of each other, out of classroom space.  People shared classrooms," said KristinaMoss, kindergarten teacher at the district. "They traveled around on buggiesbecause, you know, they didn't have an exact spot.  Here, we have so much room."

This new building runs ona geothermal system, cutting down on the school's utility expenses.
